Manufacturing Hub in Roman, Romania

Since its establishment in 2003, Odlo Romania S.R.L. has grown from a greenfield project into the cornerstone of Monte Rosa Sport's manufacturing excellence. With a production capacity of 2.2 million units annually, the facility proudly serves all three of our brands: Odlo, Janus, and Henri-Lloyd. 


📍 Location: Four production buildings covering 10,000 m².
 

👷‍♀️ Employees: 538 full-time team members (441 direct and 97 indirect roles*).
 

🧵 Equipment: 375 sewing machines which accounts for 80% of factory operations.
 

🔋 Sustainability: 24.52% of our total energy in 2024 was produced on-site via        solar panels.
 

♻️ Recycling: 100% wool fabric waste and plastic thread cones are recycled.
 

💸 Ethical Wages: All employees are paid above the Romanian minimum wage.
 

🛡️ Guidance: The factory operates under the principles of the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF). We value open communication, fair pay, and safe, respectful working conditions, all aligned with international standards and the guidance of the Fair Wear Foundation.
 

🧵 Brand split: In FY24/25, 1.7 million pieces are being produced for Odlo (74%), 582,000 for Janus (25%), and 13,000 for Henri-Lloyd (>1%). 
 

🔵 25/26: For the next fiscal year, Janus' share of production will increase from 25% to 38% (to one million pieces in total).


 *  ”Directs” include those in manufacturing working on cutting, stitching, packing. “Indirect” includes those in the office and those on the shop floor – including Production Group leaders, Mechanics, AQl, Fabric warehouse, Trims warehouse team, purchasing team, planning , industrial engineering, product development , finish goods warehouse, finance ,IT and team leaders . Direct to indirect ratio 1:0.21

 Janus wool is knitted and dyed in Bergen, Norway. Odlo’s recycled polyester comes from suppliers in Portugal, Poland, and Italy.

 Fabrics are semi-automatically spread, then precision-cut by high-tech machinery into product components.

 Cut components are bundled, barcoded, and organized for efficient movement to the sewing floor.

 The most labor-intensive step, with 375 machines operated by skilled staff. Sewing alone makes up 80% of our Romanian operations.

 After inspection and packing, finished goods are shipped to Bergen or our central warehouse in Bruggen for customer distribution.
